General Contractor
The Commercial Building Industry’s Baja Challenge, builds homes for destitute families in the hills of Eastern Tijuana. In its 7th year, the one-day event involves over
500 volunteers, who donate labor, money and materials. As founding member of the non-profit organization, David acts
as construction coordinator & troubleshooter. This year, 44 homes will be added to the 171 that have been built.



D.A. Shields participates annually in IIDA’s Student Scholarship Fund Regatta. Proceeds are awarded to talented and deserving
San Diego design students.
